The Buckinghamshire Scandal was reported to be one of the most harrowing and horrific abuse cases ever recorded. In October 2003, survivors were awarded over 1 million pounds (£1m) compensation for the abuse they suffered.

Grant Wetherall was instrumental in uncovering the Buckinhamshire Scandal when he went undercover in the Longcare Homes in 1994. He continued his involvement for three years working with a number of the abuse survivors and giving lectures at local authorities and universities.
